Acts-like fellowship
Shared Life in Community
We follow the pattern of the early church — devoted to prayer, fellowship, breaking bread, and holding all things in common.
The Community Ethos
House of the Bride is not a program or service. It is a living communitywhere relationships are cultivated, burdens are shared, and Christ is honored in everyday life.
Prayer, Worship, & the Word
We gather daily for prayer and worship, seeking God's presence together. Scripture is read, studied, and applied as the foundation of our shared life.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." — Acts 2:42
Shared Rhythms & Meals
We eat together, work together, rest together. Meals are a sacred practice of communion and hospitality. Life is structured around shared rhythms, not individual schedules.
"Every day they continued to meet together... They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts." — Acts 2:46
Hospitality & Refuge
Hospitality is central to our identity. We welcome strangers, provide refuge for the weary, and offer a safe place for those seeking God.
"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." — Hebrews 13:2
Interdependence & Contribution
We practice mutual aid and shared responsibility. Everyone contributes their gifts, time, and resources. We reject consumerism and embrace interdependence.
"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." — Acts 2:44-45
Living in rhythm
Daily, Weekly, Seasonal
Life in community follows intentional rhythms that honor work, rest, worship, and celebration.
Daily
- • Morning prayer & Scripture
- • Shared work (land, maintenance, cooking)
- • Common meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- • Evening worship or silence
- • Rest and personal time
Weekly
- • Sabbath rest (no work, extended worship)
- • Community meeting & discernment
- • Teaching & discipleship
- • Service to neighbors & local church
- • Celebration & fellowship meals
Seasonal
- • Planting & harvest celebrations
- • Extended prayer retreats
- • Fasting & spiritual disciplines
- • Seasonal feasts & remembrance
- • Land stewardship cycles
Grace, Not Performance
These rhythms are not legalistic requirements. They are grace-filled structures that help us cultivate presence with God and one another.
We reject performance-based spirituality. Our community is built on the freedom of the gospel, where obedience flows from love, not fear.
True fellowship
More Than Sunday Services
This is not a church you attend once a week. It is a family you live with, a community you belong to, a shared life that reflects the heart of the early church.
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had."
